Our Name

Maquan was named after a small pond that is located in a rural area in Southeastern Massachusetts. Legend has it that the pond was a spiritual meeting place for the Wampanoag People because its deep, clear waters, and their capacity to reflect one’s gaze, promoted introspection and clarity of thought. The pond’s history and attributes make it a fitting inspiration for a firm that strives to help clients think deeply and communicate clearly about who they are, what they do and why others should care.
